What is the webinar about?
Not all impact is equal. The best performing charities in the world have over 100x the impact compared to other charities, saving more lives at a significantly lower cost.
In our upcoming webinar, we’ll unpack the evidence behind GOAL 3’s work. We will focus on how patient monitoring and clinical support (specifically through our IMPALA System) have the potential to push impact beyond the 100x effectiveness mark. We will dive deeper into the current and upcoming evidence of this intervention, and discuss how technology, innovative business models and philanthropy are essential ingredients to scale and sustain that impact, to make sure we reach those who need it the most.
This is a knowledge session, not a fundraising pitch. If you are interested in achieving maximum impact for those who need it most. Join our webinar.
Why the work of GOAL 3 Foundation Matters
In many under-resourced hospitals, health workers care for large numbers of sick children and newborns with limited staff, unreliable equipment and fragmented information. The result is a system that often reacts too late. IMPALA was developed to support health workers with continuous monitoring, ward-level overview, clinical alerts and practical decision support.
The goal is simple: help teams identify deterioration earlier, prioritize care and use scarce resources better. To date, GOAL 3 has observed mortality reductions in the range of 27–51%, alongside up to 45% reductions in monitoring time where IMPALA has been implemented.
In the webinar, we will explain our evidence, the limitations and what needs to happen next.

Dr. Niek Versteegde is a general practitioner, tropical doctor, and founder of GOAL 3 who previously worked in Sengerema hospital, a rural district hospital in Tanzania. It was his time in Tanzania that sparked the idea for IMPALA after seeing the tremendous need for improved technology to manage and prioritize patients. He will elaborate on the needs faced by health workers in low resource settings and how IMPALA is designed to meet these needs head-on.
About GOAL 3 Foundation
The GOAL 3 Foundation is an independent organization that works alongside the GOAL 3 social enterprise to ensure that hospitals that otherwise couldn’t afford it can still access the life-saving IMPALA system. This ensures that the IMPALA system becomes available to even the most rural and under-resourced health facilities. The GOAL 3 Foundation is governed by an independent supervisory board.

GOAL 3 consists of two parts, a social enterprise and a foundation. The social enterprise operates because we believe that long-term change is a result of a sustainable business model that is not dependent on outside support. Additionally, we founded the GOAL 3 Foundation to increase our impact and support the implementation of IMPALA in hospitals that cannot afford it. The costs covered by the foundation are one-time costs for the purchase and installation of the IMPALA monitors. This means that GOAL 3 is not reliant on the foundation for continued operations. The foundation exists solely to focus on making cost-effective global health interventions, like IMPALA, affordable for places where it is needed most.
The Supervisory Board consists of 4 members: Roelof Konterman (Chairman) - Experienced healthcare executive; Dr Job Calis (Clinical) - pediatric intensivist at the Emma Children’s Hospital; Wouter Reuvers (Finance & Legal) - Experienced accountant and financial professional; Dr Niek Versteegde (General, non-voting Board Member) - CEO and Founder GOAL 3 Social Enterprise
